With climate change and rapidly rising temperatures, air conditioners have become an integral part of modern life. The core part of an air conditioner is the evaporator and condenser, and among these two parts, the fins are the most important component. The aluminum fins for air conditioning has an important influence on the performance of the air conditioner. In the current market, the majority of air conditioner fins are made of aluminum foil. So, why do air conditioning fins use aluminum foil?
The characteristics of aluminum fins for air conditioning:
- Good ductility.
Aluminum foil has good ductility and can be easily processed and shaped to meet the various shapes and sizes of fins.
- Excellent thermal conductivity
Aluminum foil is an excellent thermal conductivity material, its thermal conductivity up to 237W/(m-K), can quickly transfer heat to the air, accelerate the cooling effect of air conditioning.
- Lightweight
Aluminum foil is a lightweight material with a density of only 2.7g/cm3, so the use of aluminum foil fin stock in the manufacturing process of the fins can effectively reduce the weight of the air conditioner and improve its mobility.
- Corrosion-resistant
Aluminum foil has good corrosion resistance and is not easy to be oxidized and corroded, which can ensure the long-term service life of the fins.
The processing technology of air conditioning aluminum fins mainly includes shearing, stretching, rolling and stamping. Among them, rolling is a common processing method, which can process aluminum foil into various shapes and sizes of fins. When rolling, the aluminum foil needs to be rolled several times to form fins of different shapes, which can improve the thermal conductivity and surface area of the fins and thus accelerate the cooling effect of the air conditioner.
Compared with other materials, the cost of aluminum fins for air conditioning is relatively low and can meet the needs of mass production. In addition, the processing cost of aluminum foil is also relatively low, which can effectively reduce the production cost of air conditioners.
